McDonald’s Monopoly

Create process flows, user flows, and responsive wireframes for the largest promotion of the year.

Considerations

  • Instead of having 10 weeks to create the documentation, it was due in four weeks.

  • Additional parts of the game beyond the classic “Collect And Win” were constantly in flux.

  • A new aspect was being debuted: tracking user’s pieces online.

  • Role: Interaction Designer

  • Others: Two creatives, Interaction Design Manager

Process Flows

Based on previous year’s processes, we created a series of process flows that showed how a user’s steps through the site would be managed through a series of databases, some having never been built before.

New Functionality

For the first time, users were able to track their properties on the site (though they still had to keep the physical stamps). This required bringing in not only a new functionality, but also a new interface that allowed users to see how they stood towards earning a property group.
